Old cherry trees are planted in this plot of 60 year old vines giving to the wine distinct notes of cherries, stone fruits and kirsh every year.

Off the beaten track, Pascal Aufranc’s home is also his workplace - an old farmhouse on the hillside of Rémont in Chénas surrounded by woods, fields, and vineyards. Pascal Aufranc started with just 4 acres of Gamay vines planted in 1939 on classic granitic soil and sand. Today, he oversees 20+ acres with plots in Juliénas, Chénas, and Fleurie. “The mosaic of the landscape amazes me every day and gives my wines a singular expression and sense of harmony”. Monsieur Aufranc prefers patience and observation over manipulation of his vineyards and emphasizes the most environmentally friendly methods as possible, farming sustainably and hand harvesting with traditional Beaujolais vinification methods.
