The Vetriccie rose is a blend of native Corsican grapes that will be unfamiliar to many of you. The main grape is Nielluccio, Corsica’s most important red grape and a close relative to Italy’s Sangiovese. Up next is Sciaccerello, another of Corsica’s most vital red grapes, and believed to be related to the Ligurian/Tuscan grape Mammolo. The Nielluccio contributes tangy and tart aromas and flavors of watermelon, cranberry, and pomegranate while the Sciaccerello adds hints of white flowers and spice.
